Professor of American Politics and Public Policy

Visiting NEH Chair at Albright College (Asian or Africana Studies)

Albright College seeks a scholar to be the NEH Chair during the 2010-2011 academic year.  Applicants must come from either one of the humanities disciplines (history, religious studies, philosophy, literature in any language, cultural studies) with a focus on Africa, the African Diaspora, or Asia or from an interdisciplinary Africana or Asian Studies specialization with an emphasis on the humanities. Applicants should hold a Ph.D, have a record of scholarship and be successful teachers. 

NEH Chairs are in residence for one semester or one academic year (preferred), offering a course each semester for undergraduate students.  Alternative residency models can also be considered.   Rank is open, although most typically at the Associate Professor level. Regardless of the terms of the appointment, NEH Chairs are expected to provide at least one public lecture per semester-in-residence, to be available to guest lecture in other courses, and to offer workshops on their scholarship to their colleagues.  Some scholarship funding is available.

Assistant Professor in Peninsular Spanish

Albright College invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professorship in Peninsular Spanish culture and literature for appointment in fall of 2010. The candidate should have a Ph.D. in Spanish and possess native or near-native fluency in order to teach at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum.  Specialization in Peninsular Spanish is open; however, candidate must be able to teach culture and literature survey courses and thematic courses on Spain, especially contemporary Spain.  Evidence of prior teaching excellence is highly desirable, particularly in elementary and intermediate level language/culture courses. Candidate should also demonstrate her/his scholarly potential.  Candidate will have opportunities to develop new courses, refine existing ones, and collaborate with scholars in other fields to create interdisciplinary courses and study abroad programs. The normal teaching load is three courses per semester. Salary is competitive. Inorganic Chemistry Faculty Position

Albright College Degree Completion Program
Full-Time Accounting Instructor, Non-Tenure Track
 
Albright College is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach in the Accounting Degree Completion Program (DCP).  The DCP is an accelerated baccalaureate program.  Offered at multiple sites, student cohorts meet weekly in the evening, completing the program in 24 months.  DCP is designed for adult students with at least two years of college experience and five years of work experience.

Candidates need to possess a Masters level degree and also preferably be a Certified Public Accountant.  Prior experience teaching non-traditional undergraduate students is highly desirable.  Candidates should be qualified to teach beginning and intermediate accounting courses and a majority of the other 12 accounting courses in the program (e.g. tax, auditing, managerial, cost, and advanced). Candidates should be available to teach at all of the eight program locations in southeastern Pennsylvania.
