The mission of the Holocaust Resource Center is to provide community awareness, information, audio-visual support and education about the Nazi Holocaust to prevent this tragic event from happening again. We carry out this mission by providing the educational community of Berks County with assistance and the resources necessary to teach the Holocaust to their students. In addition, we provide speakers to the schools and community groups in Berks County. The Resource Center works cooperatively with Berks County Intermediate Unit by sponsoring workshops and seminars for teachers. It works closely with local religious institutions and community groups in their presentation of Holocaust programs.

The collection, housed in the Resource Center and the library at-large, consists of over 2323 different titles (2600 volumes) and more than 290 video, sound and computer titles dealing with all aspects of the rise of Nazi Germany, World War II, and the Holocaust, as well as over 3 dozen taped interviews with survivors and liberators. These materials can be searched by selecting the search limit scope "Search Holocaust Library" in the online catalog.
